8-day movement, painted arched dial with moonphase, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, 'four seasons' spandrels, signed E.J. Woodward Bridgnorth.

Edward (Edmund) John Woodward b.1798 (Birmingham) - d.1856 (Bridgnorth), worked at 24 High Street, Bridgnorth. Successor to Thomas Glaze after his death in 1852. Edmund Woodward married Thomas Glaze's niece, Maria, in 1852, when she was 49 years old. After Edmund's death in 1856, the 1861 census records that Maria Woodward continued the family business as 'Jeweller and Watchmaker' at 24 High Street.

Joseph and George Osborne, 'Opticians, Jewellers and Watchmakers' eventually took over the premises, and continued trading until the mid-1950's.
