Journal leaves. Leaves from the 'Journal of Life in the Highlands'.1848-1861 2nd. Edition Signed Queen Victoria.signed 24 May 1869 to Bridgnorth Mens Constitutional & Literary Association. Also two letters - 1/ Sir Thomas Biddulph has received the commands of Her Majesty the Queen to forward to W. ___________, a copy of Her Majesty's Book, for the Bridgnorth Working Men's Constitutional and Literary Association. The book is sent by rail this day - Balmoral May 24th, 1889. - 2/ Major General Sir Thomas Biddulph is commanded to acknowledge the recipt of the application of Bridgnorth Working Men's Associationof a copy of the Queen's Highland Journal. Before Her Majesty can consider this request Sir Thomas Biddulph begs that the printed prospectus of the institution, the date of it's establishment, the number of members who belong to it and some statement of it's financial position may be forwarded to him. On account of the immense number of applications, The Queen is obliged to lay down the rule to grant the book only to those institutions, which are well supported, and which may be reasonably expected to be of some permanent importance.
