Mrs Minton won the carpet in a raffle at 6p a ticket. There was a fault in the writing 'Palace of Westminster' and so the carpet was going to be scrapped. Mrs Minton said all the skilled workers had there names in a book and so when a special projecty like this one came up they would be sent for. They had it framed as a memento of where she had worked.
