postcard - black and white - Stoneway Steps, Bridgnorth. postage 1/2 penny. Ascribed by Farlow and Trumper 'Around Bridgnorth' to circa 1915. The two signs advertise William Jones, ironmongers, general merchant, sewing machine dealer, on Castle Terrace. owned a china shop at 57 High Street, and another shop at 47 High Street, Bridgnorth. Journal records 1/4/1853 that the council was to obtain iron stretchers to support walls. 1/5/1853 Mr Pope (iron master of Low Town) obtained the tender for �14. Published by Wildings, Shrewsbury. No. 1982. The white border on this card has been left intact. see 2014-141.
