photograph - black and white - The Ash Inn, Salop Street, Bridgnorth. (photograph about 1920) Later Rutter's Garage car park occupied its site after it was demolished. The area was called Town End and still used for agriculture in the 1870's with a Smithfield behind this Inn. The Ash Inn was a farmhouse rebuilt after the civil war and was first referrred to as an Inn in 1775, run by the Guest family until 1826, then by others. Demolished 1960's.
